eNRG Kayaking History – From College Student to Business Owner

eNRG Kayaking is one of the top paddling schools in the Northwest.  We buy, sell, and rent canoes, kayaks, rafts, SUPs and associated equipment in Oregon.  Founded by extreme kayak champion Sam Drevo, our staff consists of Olympic champions, river rescue experts, American Canoe Association (ACA) instructor trainers, and many dedicated and certified instructors.

Founded as an evolution of the Lewis & Clark College Paddling Club in Portland Oregon, we specialize in beginner instruction, kayak instructor training, and swiftwater rescue / safety instruction. In 2011, we moved our shop from SE Portland to an on-water location in Oregon City at the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette River.  We created the ever popular Willamette Falls Kayak Tour (our signature trip) in Oregon City embracing the rich history of the Willamette Falls and Oregon City.

Flat water, whitewater, we LOVE it all!

In addition to our location in Oregon City, in 2015 we opened a seasonal annex at Willamette Park in West Linn at Bernart Landing giving people access to the Willamette River north of the Willamette Falls through the always beautiful Narrows. We rent flatwater boats & SUP boards to people above and below Willamette Falls and run scenic moving water raft & inflatable kayak float trips on the Clackamas River.

Our flatwater options are complemented by our whitewater location 25 miles east of Salem in Mill City and Gates Oregon. We offer scenic and whitewater raft and inflatable kayak trips as well as kayak instruction on the North Fork of the Santiam River all summer long.  The N.F. Santiam offers white water all summer long and is one of the best and safest places in the NW to learn the whitewater sport.  For those who want a little more challenge, we also organize trips on the Deschutes River or Opal Creek.

Regardless of your interest in flatwater or whitewater boating, we are here ready to serve your needs & help you enjoy this lifelong sport.  Give us a call or send us an email, and we look forward to speaking with you soon.

Glenna Andrews - Manager

Glenna joined the eNRG Kayaking team in 2015. A graduate of Lewis & Clark College, originally from Wisconsin grew up canoeing. While working at YMCA Storer Camps in Michigan Glenna fell in love with kayaking during a training to become certified instructor with the ACA. She took her new-found passion and skill to work for Lewis & Clark College Outdoors leading kayaking, hiking, skiing, and training trips.

Justin Rae - Owner

Justin was lucky to start his outdoor apprenticeship as a professional river guide working throughout most of the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and South America for close to a decade.  He inevitably stumbled upon full time employment and has been immersed in the start-up/entrepreneurship world since then.  He was hooked after he sold his first business at the age of 24.  When not working with his myriad of side projects he currently works with entrepreneurs and executives through his wealth management business at Morgan Stanley.  In addition, he is an active investor in private equity and angel investment deals throughout the country.

Fortunately he never let the river flow too far….he is an active partner in an international river business, ENRG Kayaking (www.enrgkayaking.com), and recently led an international expedition to the Grand Canyon of the Amazon in Peru.  Believing in the power of community and outdoor recreation he has been instrumental in bringing the first whitewater park to the West Coast through his work with the Bend Paddle Trail Alliance.

Justin brings an active investor mentality to the group as well as an experienced successful entrepreneur mindset who has co-founded or founded a variety of companies from an outdoor ecommerce company, wealth management business, outdoor services company, and technology companies.

When not in the office, which is often, Justin is usually tooling around with his two kids somewhere around the Oregon outback.
