Bruno Mountain Lodge

The Bruno Mountain River Lodge is our rustic riverside cabin at the take out of the upper North Fork Santiam River (2 miles above Detroit Lake).

We base our multi-day river workshops out of this location.

We have camping available, and this ideal riverside location provides a quiet forested setting feet from a class III+ playspot, and several class III-IV whitewater sections including the upper and lower Breitenbush River, and the upper and lower Bruno Mountain section of the N.F. Santiam and the Niagara section of the N.F. Santiam. The magical & rejuvenating Breitenbush hot springs are twenty minutes away.

The Mt Bruno River Lodge was completed in Winter 2014 and sits on the banks of the beautiful North Santiam River above Detroit Lake.  Situated between public forest service land and Detroit Lake it offers unparalleled scenery and recreation opportunities.  The Lodge prides itself in sustainable practices and uses a composting toilet as well as a self-contained water system.  There is room for 6-8 people to sleep in the Lodge.  The rooms are broken down to the following:

  • Master Bedroom and Porch: The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and is located on the second floor.  Sliding glass doors opens to a private covered porch that has river frontage views.  Many people choose to sleep on the porch outside on the futon in order to hear the whitewater of the North Santiam.  This room is suitable for up to two people who can either share the bed accommodations or use both the porch futon and the queen bed.
  • SkyLight Room:  The skylight room has a queen sized bed and is located on the second floor.  Two beautiful skylights allow sunlight and forest views in the ceiling.
  • BunkRoom:  The bunkroom is located on the main level and can accommodate four people (two adults and two kids.)  For the purpose of this trip, we limit this room to two adult participants.

The Bruno Mtn Lodge facility is mainly used for paddling, trail running, and hiking programs. It has a spacious campground for small groups, and a composting toilet inside the cabin and a porta-potie on the property.  Send us an email with your group size, date preferences, and activities so we can customize an itinerary for you!
