Featured at the tour event in Oregon City, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act by sharing the Wild and Scenic Rivers program. The festival is a natural extension of eNRG Kayaking’s educational work to inspire people to get out onto the river and learn to paddle! Our goal is to have a large community paddle up to the falls at 12pm June 2nd, and a fun float down the Clackamas River on June 3rd as part of the celebration.

The Clackamas River Cleanup was founded fifteen years ago in an effort to encourage the outdoor recreation community to take the lead with stewardship activities on the river. In a one day effort we rallied forty participants and pulled countless bags of trash off the river.  In the second year of the event, the Clackamas River Basin council teamed up to raise the profile, we attracted 136 participants and pulled 2.5 tons of trash out of the river (recycling 70%).  We also invited artists to come take found items and make art- kicking off the Ripple Art show- a worthy outreach event.

We Love Clean Rivers was incorporated in 2008 to continue the vital restoration work of ensuring  the Clackamas Cleanup  continues and to engage in public interest work throughout Clackamas County and beyond. For our 10 year anniversary of the Clackamas cleanup we collaborated with the Clackamas Arts Alliance, Metro, the City of Oregon City, and Oregon City High School to create an art sculpture, a new entrance sign, and a new RV kiosk at the entrance to Clackamette Park.
