Summary (SU)

eNRG Kayaking is excited to bring back the downstream paddling trip on the Willamette River, from SportCraft Marina in Oregon City to the Milwaukee boat ramp. Follow the 1840’s route of discovery by John McLoughlin and explore the Willamette River from Willamette Falls to Milwaukee by Kayak. Mcloughlin is often referred to as the “Father of Oregon ” and was the founder of Oregon City and the earliest pioneers used river travel as their main means of transportation. This adventure takes you downstream from the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette rivers in Oregon City past Goat Island on towards Hogg Island, a perfect snack/lunch spot. This 8 mile trip flows past manicured riverfront estates of Dunthorpe, and large green spaces like Mary S Young Park, Cedar Oak, Foothills and RiverVilla Park ending just past Elk Island. From here, you are walking distance to the Trimet Lightrail system in Milwaukee and steps from a handful of businesses in downtown Milwaukee.
