FAQs

Of course it is! About 80% of the individuals on trips have never done it before. You will be accompanied by a qualified guide from the time you walk into our shop until you return to land following your tour. Before getting out on the water the guide will go over the gear you will be using and helpful safety notes. They will get you into your boat and walk you through paddling basics all before you even head out on the tour.

In general it is always best to arrive about 10-15 minutes before your start time.

The majority of our trips are based out of our Oregon City location located at 1701 Clackamette Drive Oregon City, OR 97045.

Clackamette Drive dead ends in a parking lot. Go ahead and park in any spot that isn’t marked for homeowners or sheriff. Continue down the metal ramp and follow the signs to our shop. Our check-in desk is at the back wall.

Sunglasses or a hat can be nice on a sunny day, a water bottle too (for kayakers). Rain jackets for those not so sunny days are great. Otherwise we have all the gear you will need.

Typically we have a minimum age of 8 years old for a child to paddle on their own. To paddle solo a child must be capable of paddling at a moderate pace for the duration of the excursion. We do have tandem kayaks available upon request for a child to partner with their parent. If a child is small (around 4 years old), a parent can often paddle with the child in their lap as another option. If you have specific questions, give us a call.

Dress in comfortable clothes that are okay to get a little wet. Layers are great – wear what you would if you were going for a light hike.

While our guides are well compensated for their skills, if you feel like you’ve received an exceptional experience – tipping is always appreciated thanking them for their work. A percentage-based average for gratuities is between 10%-20% of the total trip cost.

Yes, are trips run rain or shine! We have additional gear available for rainy weather.

No – consumption of alcohol before or during your activity is strictly prohibited. Anyone under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to participant and no refunds will be given.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets on our boats to prevent possible damage to equipment.
